This book is an award-winning work of the “golden autograph Award for creation of the fifth Wu Dayou science popularization Works Award”. Easy introduction to life science, tell about interesting sexual knowledge of animals, plants and bacteria!
Creatures just entering the stage of sexual maturity, including human teenagers, men and women, sometimes suffer from sexual desire. This is a natural phenomenon in the biological world: as long as it is an animal with active gonads, it will have lust, whether it is a bird, a fish or a person. So, we have to ask, do we have to have sex to reproduce? In fact, some organisms, such as nematodes, can self fertilize; There are also Komodo lizards and hammerhead sharks. There have been many cases of virgin reproduction abroad!
In this book, the author does not discuss human sex, but introduces all kinds of interesting biological “sex” knowledge. For example, the fate of bees varies greatly with gender differences. The queen bee lays eggs crazily, the worker bee (also the female bee) works all day, and the male bee is either waiting to mate or die. It is their sex genes that cause class differences.
Even more strange examples can be found everywhere. For example, aphids have “hidden knots” before they are born. What’s the matter? In addition, there is a kind of red salmon whose gonadal development will be affected by temperature changes, and the male fish will be denatured.
After reading interesting examples, the author also introduces the sex chromosomes X and y that dominate people’s gender, the relationship between hormones and the brain, and: can genes determine people’s sexual orientation? Is homosexuality caused by genes? In addition, a little boy who lost his sexual organs due to accident became the experimental object of the theory that “upbringing will change gender consciousness”. He was raised as a girl since childhood, so that his life and that of his twin brother have been very different since then.
Sex, no sex, really matter!

★ the winning works of “the fifth Wu Dayou science popularization Works Award creative gold signature Award”! The perfect combination of science and interest.
★ easy introduction to life science, telling interesting sexual knowledge of animals, plants and bacteria!
★ Professor Lu Daru of Fudan University, Chinese American biologist Wu Xiaolin, Professor Yu Hongcan of Taiwan University, and researcher Yan Hongyang of Taiwan’s “Academia Sinica” Highly recommended!
l In addition to humans, other animals, plants and even bacteria also have “sex” problems.
Do you have to have sex to reproduce? not always!
Is there such a thing as virgin reproduction? That’s a lot.
Is sexual reproduction better than asexual reproduction? Is homosexuality caused by genes? Is gender awareness innate or nurtured?
Let this book teach you all kinds of “sex” knowledge that you can’t imagine!
l The “sex” world of biology is an excellent popular science work with a perfect combination of science and interest. It has won an important popular science award on both sides of the Taiwan Strait - “the gold signature Award for creation of the fifth Wu Dayou Science Popularization Work Award”! The award is held every two years to select Chinese world * popular science books, divided into creation and translation, and set up gold signature award, silver signature award and excellent work award respectively.
l Lin Zhengkun, the author of this book and a famous doctor in Taiwan, has a very professional knowledge base. When observing and writing the “sexual” world of biology, he does not lack fabric humanistic feelings, which makes biological common sense interesting under his description and won unanimous praise from authoritative experts on both sides of the Strait. It is especially suitable for college and middle school students and natural science lovers!
l This is not a book on the details of sexual behavior, but a masterpiece of popular science on the diversity of biological reproductive strategies and the basic theories involved. It uses approachable language and simple examples to explain profound biological reproduction phenomena and related theories, and tell you the sexual knowledge you want to know but are embarrassed to ask. The book consists of 12 chapters, covering the knowledge about sex and evolution obtained by studying organisms based on the models of bacteria, yeast, cryptoalgae, fruit flies, mantis, spiders, orchids, nematodes, aphids, Komodo lizard, hammerhead shark and fish.
l Do you avoid talking about “sex” in public, but look for information about “sex” in private? An excellent popular science book on sex is what our society urgently needs.
l Don’t miss this book, which has won unanimous praise from authoritative experts. It is a must read sex museum for understanding life science!

Authoritative recommendation
Showing the important conditions of science begins with curiosity about things, making careful and careful observation, collecting first-hand data, and then analyzing and making conclusions Lin Zhengkun’s books meet these conditions. Even, he made his own illustrations, simple and simple, but they were effective expressions.
——Professor, Institute of zoology and Department of life sciences, Taiwan University Yu Hongcan
This book uses a very approachable colloquial way to explain the profound biological reproduction phenomenon and related theories with simple examples. Therefore, I strongly recommend this good popular science book that you want to know but are embarrassed to ask sexual questions.
